They are not the best-tasting substance in the world and this method can help take the edge off. The dosage largely remains the same so if it is your first trip, stick to the advice above. The only thing to consider is the liquid is absorbed into the body faster than eating truffles so your trip will start and build sooner than if you just ate them.
1. Cut, break or crush your chosen truffles into smaller pieces. The smaller the better. Not only does this help when diffusing the truffles in the tea but also makes them easier to eat when you have finished your tea.
2. Boil some water, but DO NOT add the boiling water to the truffles just yet. It is worth noting the amount of water you add will adjust the strength of your new concoction. A standard sized mug is a good place to start.
3. Allowing the boiled water to cool slightly, add to your mug of truffles and leave for 10-15 mins. The active components in truffles are broken down by extreme heat so that is why it is important to avoid adding the water when it is boiling.
4. Stir gently and it is now ready for drinking. Sugar or honey can be added at this point to help take the edge off the taste. I would recommend it!
